Dr San tailor’s therapy to the individual but works primarily using CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy)
CBT is a scientifically-based approach for psychological disturbance such as panic attacks, anxiety, depression, anger, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, sleep disturbance, phobias, obsessional disorders, eating disorders, addictions, post-traumatic stress disorder etc.
It is directly concerned with thoughts and feelings and can be applied to conditions which might not be treated easily or effectively in other ways.
Much of the treatment is based in the here and now with the goal of helping patients bring about the desired change in their lives.
The therapeutic relationship is collaborative and strategies are planned together to tackle clearly identified problems.
Therapy is time-limited with explicitly agreed goals.
